The Arts Council of Princeton, and the Princeton Recreation Department present the return of Summer Sounds at Pettoranello Gardens. Beginning July 5th, The Arts Council, in collaboration with the Recreation Department, will produce free concerts in the beautiful and scenic Pettoranello Gardens outdoor amphitheater. The first concert will be a benefit concert for SAVE Animal Shelter showcasing 5 bands (see SAVE press release). Other performances include Rackett, Swing Sabroso, and Patty Larkin.

The United Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks and the JCC of Princeton Mercer Bucks are co-sponsoring an Israel Extravaganza, a family celebration honoring Israel’s 60th anniversary. The event will be held at Rider University, Bart Luedeke Center from 6:00 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, July 30. Admission is free; food will be available for purchase. Friday August 1st, 7:30 pm, the Arts Council of Princeton will screen JackStock the Story of New Jersey’s Open-Mic Music Superstar!, produced and directed by Thomas Florek. Location: Robert L. VOICES Chorale will hold its second open sing on Thursday, August 7, 7:30 p.m., at the beautiful Music Together Community Room, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Rd, Hopewell, NJ, the new home of VOICES Chorale and its chamber group, Sotto Voce.
Friday August 8 and Saturday August 9, 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm: One Act Theatre, an Evening of 8 Short Plays produced by local theater troupe Chimera Productions, presented by the Arts Council of Princeton at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts (102 Witherspoon Street, Princeton). Doors open at 6:30 pm. The two-hour event will showcase eight short plays. Tickets are available at the door for $10, $8 for members; seating is limited. On Saturday, August 16, 2008, from 3:30-7 pm, Griggstown Reformed Church will be hosting its 128th Annual Harvest Home Festival, and you're invited. Along with music from the traditional favorite Blawenburg Band, they will also have contemporary Christian bands. There will be displays and kids' activities, as well as items to purchase, including the popular silent auction. And don't forget to bring an appetite.
